LTL companies are getting desperate now and are hiring anyone straight out of school.

How many drivers are putting proper placards, secure the loads or check PSI? Not too many.

About 2 weeks ago I had a guy bring me HZ trailer without placards and you know what his excuse was? The trailer didn’t have placard holders.

At least I had some tape and always carry extra placards in my truck.

I saw a Saia truck on an exit ramp; red paint was flowing out of the back of the trailer. A lot of paint was on the pavement and still flowing out of the trailer.
Doubt they'll lose hazmat authority though; too big to fail.

If you know what it's like with a mega LTL, you'll understand that they push so much corporate B.S. having to do with "load efficiency" on the dock that they hurt the quality of the work. It's all about loading(stuffing) as much weight and volume as you can into a trailer as quickly as you can because "space and time wasted=profit margins down".
Then they wonder why shipments are damaged, not secured properly etc. this includes HM.
Plus no one is ever held accountable from the top down for these problems... It's pretty ugly at times from my experience, but what do any of us truckers know, anyway...

I remember years ago like July of 2010. It was said while in orientation at a hazmat tanker company. That Schneider's tanker division was going to loose there Hazmat authority. Well fast forward 10 years later and they still have there hazmat. No matter how crappy they are.

So if SNI tanker division hasn't lost there's. Then how could Saia?

The government might "slap the wrist" of a mega carrier, but don't think for a moment they will go beyond that.

I would say false. They are only .34% higher than national average on OOS inspections.
