Florida is also home to the American Crocodile, which does go into salt water. They inhabit S Florida, but don't think they get all the way down to Key West.

I do recall taking a load to Jupiter once and I asked my carrier why we hardly go further than Tampa/Orlando. They told me with the customers they do have down there, it's cheaper to deliver in Jacksonville to a yard that delivers the rest of the way usually by train or local LTL because they have no freight out of there and the costs add up when you have to deadhead hundreds of trucks back to Orlando.

My trainer was a Miami native and he told me he'd park in Jacksonville and drive back and forth to home.
