According to my experience with Cat engines you can get this MPG only with speed 55 or less.:biggrin_25522:

According to picture of your truck and trailer, especially the gap between truck and trailer,it's impossible for good MPG,don't mention it's salvage truck.:biggrin_2554:

I agree, don't try to argue with him. I mean seriously. He gets good mileage, with a Pete 379xhd, with a cat engine, and has a large gap. Lol how could you NOT get great numbers with that set up? Ok well there was this one time with a guy...he had a large army parachute attached to the back of his trailer for drag...said it gave him an extra 2mpg.

Personally for me...I take off all the plastic, fiberglass, windhsields, and air deflectors for maximum mpg. Right now...well lets just say, I havent filled up in weeks.

I averaged 6.49 miles to the gallon last quarter on my ifta with my wheelbase pulling my reefer and last years overall average pulling my flatbed was 7. D16 I think you just need to give up on trying to prove some of us wrong. Oh and for the record I drive a 379 exhd with a 310 inch wheelbase and no fairings and I am still pulling that kind of fuel mileage. It has been stated before that it is all about preference and all of us large car guys have dropped it so you vulva guys (D16) should do the same.
