Well - Brunners is still three weeks out on the boxes. Dummy went and booked a load for the step.
I’ll be stretching it out to a whopping 55 feet. Maybe go 57 to accommodate securement - not sure. It’s overall 80’ closed, and 2 foot stretch increments, so 84’ won’t make much difference.
It’s $7300 on the board for 800 miles, legal height/weight/width. No tarp. Not thrilling $ but I felt it would be a good exercise.
Had to make a temporary box - I hate to fill the top deck with’stuff’ - but stuff has to go somewhere.
Do most step or RGN guys utilize the top deck and simply avoid loads that want to use the WHOLE trailer?
Ugly, but ready.
The journey begins - purchased a truck.

I know it's only temporary, but I had a similar set up on mine to haul all my blocks.
Georgia hassled me calling it a divisible load because it was strapped down.
So I had to pull the strap and lag bolt it to the deck.jamespmack, Czar_Zero, Ruthless and 2 others Thank this. -

I didn’t know that you can haul freight on the front deck. I thought that was my space

I ordered the side boxes, but nowhere for tarps if required, so I guess my revenue exists on the magical lower ability of 43’-65’ ?JoeyJunk, God prefers Diesels, RStewart and 1 other person Thank this. -
Good because they are hardly marked in Ohio.Ten Bears19, blairandgretchen and God prefers Diesels Thank this. -
Legal load of steel to get from Blytheville to east of Atlanta.
Back to west of Atlanta for a 45’ AC unit.
I am a rookie.(This was stamped on my bills for the steel load).
AC unit delivered to Reading, PA - then over to Newark, NJ for this crate to Tipp City, OH. 54’ long. Stretched the bottom deck 12’ - for 92’ overall, escort the whole way,
I am bouncing home 630 miles after this, for a total of 3 loads, 7 days, 3300 miles, Home to Home $4.23/mile TTT all miles.
I could hang out in Ohio and wait for Monday, but can’t be bothered.
Tough trailer to pull - axles set at the back make for ‘drive way straighter, turn way later’.
Out of my comfort zone. Ain’t tore up nothing so far.Last edited: Mar 19, 2021
