Might not be legit. But they're here because the State wants them here.

Think Farming....... No papers required, although it's the law.

Next time you see an active ATA member. Be sure to thank him.

I am a Policeman and the last couple of truck wrecks I worked had Drivers that could not speak English. Here in Texas it says you must speak English to get a CDL just like I did but these guys could not have passed those tests in English.

I am not trying to be rude here but I have to ask ... Did you do anything to remove these drivers from the road as far as commercial vehicle driving is concerned since they obviously to you did not meet the English speaking requirement as set forth in the law?

No they were fully Licensed in the State of Texas. Most likely took their test at Texas DPS in Spanish. A Policeman has no control there it is up to the Licensing Authority.

Truck Driver Jobs Are Hard To Fill In ANY Economy!

Go figure, it's the pay and everything else truckers have to contend with.
    The ATA is the problem.
They want a high industry turnover to get MORE Government help to import more drivers and subsidize trucking schools (mills).
How many laid off Factory Workers do you know who were sent to trucking schools and are STILL driving?
Don't thank a Veteran by sticking them in truck give them the real thanks they deserve gratitude and a real job with a future.
This entire driver shortage myth has been around for decades. Before deregulation trucking companies didn't have a driver shortage problem.
Have you been by these "Mega" carriers terminals/yards and see 200 plus trucks sitting empty? Drive across I-70 in Ohio in 10 miles you'll see plenty of "Red" and "Blue" ones.
How many experienced/seasoned drivers do you know that said to heck with trucking?
Most of the gov't regulations are because of the A.T.A. and the A.T.A. has always been trying to squeeze out the smaller co's for years.
People who want to drive want to because of the Freedom of the Road not Socialized Trucking the A.T.A. Lobbyists impose. We don't need the A.T.A. or the gov't spying on us we need them to get off our backs and let us do our jobs.
What happened to companies that pay for your experience? Now they all want inexperienced people to "train (railroad)". If you don't work out for them and accept their brainwashing they ruin you, your record, and blackball you from the industry.
Yes A.T.A. there is a driver shortage and look in the mirror of your BIG Glass Towers you throw drivers at.

I bet most of you did not know Texas DPS gives its tests in Spanish and English. It also allows you to take the test orally. So in reality there is no requirement to speak or read English to get a CDL
