They ordered my services on a Wednesday through CD. I had freight on the front, putting the car behind it. They won't hardly talk to you on the phone while you're driving. Everything is text, wasted a lot of time not driving to communicate with them. I had constant text contact with the lady Wed and Thurs. On the morning of the pickup (a Friday) I called and left 2 voicemails with the shipper and never got a response. Tried dispatch for VROOM no answer/ VM full. I drove 163 Miles; the owner of the dealership informs me of the following: "That vehicle has been sold for a week. You're the second carrier to attempt a pick up from VROOM 2 Stafford. The first time was my fault and they charged me $500. It's not my fault this time!" I sent a text to the original lady with all this information and no response. At 1456 I called the dispatch number again no answer VM full. 1457 I called the Stafford location no answer and left a VM. They texted right back and informed me I would receive zero compensation but she'd try to find me another car. At 1552 I got another text from someone else at VROOM asking if I'd picked the truck up. I explain everything, he said ok and hung up. They ending up finding me something half the distance for half the money. Her text siad "I've contacted the customer and he knows to expect your call." 1654 I called the customer and he states he's on vacation in Florida, he let VROOM know that, and I can't pick the truck up until Monday. This all happened late on a Friday; I ended up finding another car to fill my trailer on my own Sat morning. We spent 3 weeks getting vetted for central dispatch and a shipper is allowed to do this. VROOM-2 Stafford just doesn't have their stuff together yet. I sent emails with all this info to CD (they're really no help), VROOM billing office, and VROOM corporate. Doubt I'll hear anything.

that sucks! this is why I only haul new cars. I roll into the port/rail and load and Go! I will dead head home before playing games with brokers, dealers, and hunting cars in an auction! Some people have the auctions wired and don't mind them.... I can be home most days within the HOS and reload and be ready for the next trip before most can load at a dealer or auction.

I'm still learning boss. Still learning! HAHAHAHA. One new rule I just put into place, if I can't get the shipper on the horn within a reasonable amount of time, and I call the broker/ customer and their dispatch doesn't answer/ VM is full. I'll just log in and cancel the dispatch. I could have found something Friday morning out of K ville had I done that. And if they aren't paying the carrier the 500 they charged the dealership the first time, where is it going? Hmmmm. Crappy business right there boy.

Yeah unfortunately that a regular occurrence hauling off central dispatch. Always call customer asap to setup pickup time and check on car availability. If you book cars picking at copart or iaai call and make sure they paid. I eventually came to the rule that I wouldn't drive to customer if I haven't talked to them.

Should I neg review them on CD or just let it go? I don’t think the neg will Mean squat. I’m moving on, just trying to keep someone else from falling into the trap but really they have mostly good reviews. I came up with the same rule. Just gotta tell the broker sorry. If I can’t reach the customer I gotta move to something else. I don’t even know how to get copart and iaai gigs. There’s a huge customs port in midlothian. Have no idea how to score those either.
