I am looking into buying a tractor. I have several years of experience driving and don't foresee any issue in my being approved to lease on with a carrier with the truck I think I am going to buy. But my sister who is 21 wants to learn to drive. I have tried to talk her out of it, but she is insisting that she wants to learn to drive and be a truck driver. What company could I go lease to that would allow me to train her to drive and ultimately end up teaming with her to help her get her experience without having to be tied to one of the training mega carriers for a year? Any suggestions? I plan on getting a manual transmission truck, so she doesn't end up with a restriction on her license for automatic only. I prefer a manual over an auto anyway.

She may have to find a school to get her cdl at. There are some good schools that are not tied to any companies and she may be able to get a grant to help pay for it. Then finding a company that will let you provide her "finishing" training should be doable. For you to find a company that will let you train her from the beginning I think will be hard to do..
