If you’re using this ELD as I am, watch your quarterly mileage reports.

Mine aren’t even close to reality. Between states not even listed on the report, to wild discrepancies in actual miles driven in any particular state…always short miles. I’m talking thousands of miles missing over a 30,500 mile quarter.

Anyway, for the second quarter in a row I’ll rely on my Garmin gps for actual mileage. Surprisingly the gps is dead on accurate with my trucks odometer.

Anyone else hate Big Road? I’m going to try finding something better.

I don't have anything to compare, but I like Motive (Keep Truckin'). Awesome interface. Takes several tanks of fuel before the ELD mileage is one mile different than my odometer, and the GPS is so granular I can see when I've moved my truck just a few feet at my house.

$40/month, plus tax in your state. Pro Plan. Does IFTA, trip reports, ect ect ect.

    I have KT/Motive elog & fuel card.

    But also TruckingOffice is good.
Had KT first, May cancel it when it renews, but it’s paid for this year til like.. march or april next.
This they don’t really charge for elog if you use the TMS which i do for loads/billing/keeping up with paid/unpaid invoices on phone be being at computer at home.

They are good when it comes to this stuff. If you ever have a problem it is a pain in the ### to deal with the people that can hardly speak English. The system is good as I have it too.

I've been in a dispute with FleetComplete for over a year now. The ELDs quit without notice, I can't get customer support, inaccurate reporting and now you can't get a native English speaker on the phone-- it is a Canadian company and it seems that everyone there is new, untrained and unable to do anything. The standard answers I get are "this is what corporate is telling me to do" or "call this number," which never answers and the voice MB is full. I'm considering either Keep Trucking with Motive or OneStep. The longer I stay with FleetComplete, the worse it gets.

When big road was it's own company they were great, then they were bought out by Fleet Complete and went downhill. I've liked using the program and learned to work with it's glitches, but my boss decided earlier this year that we were going to try different programs, we've now switched to GEOTAB, and honestly, it's a PITA of a program. Every morning I have to recertify my log from the day before, makes no sense.

Just as an update to this thread, we changed to OneStep GPS a couple of months ago and so far we are pleased. No contracts, quick customer support, decent pricing. Their ELD platform is ApolloELD which is just okay (not super for the admin side but ok for driver side once you learn how to use it). The GPS, reporting and cameras are awesome. The company is based out of CA and easy to work with.
