Any driver's on here working for Buchanan. I've been here over a month and am pleased with them so far. They have kept me moving and the money is good as well as hometime. The e logs for company drivers are a pain takes awhile to get use to. I have always ran loose leaf doing reefers but am adjusting to them. Some of the equipment is older but very well maintained. I am in truck 2577 holler at me and say hi if you see me out on the road.

I'm still enjoying working for them. I have no complaints at all. I deliver quite a bit in Texas so your husband getting home should be no problem. I am coming off of home time and headed to Houston for a Monday delivery. If you have any questions I will try to answer them.

Just wanted to say thank you for replying so quickly. We will be buying our rig in the next couple of weeks but are leaning towards lease/purchase so we can keep what we have and just make lease payments as we go along. That way, if things don't work out we at least have some cash saved up to live on ya know? Did you lease or buy your own? Where are you based, do you live in TX also? How many miles a week do you run? My hubby was told the pay would be roughly 3 to 5 dollars a mile depending on where you run. Heard of routes up into Canada which is quite away from home, lol. Don't know what to believe as far as pay goes, that dollar amount seems a little high if you ask me. Let us know how you are doing and where you're gonna be. Perhaps we could chat by phone or something. I'm Debbie and my hubby is Jim. Good luck and happy travels CD...hope to hear from you soon.

BTW CD, this is Horselovers, that is my account, SmokingJoe is Jim's account. Why I have two accounts you ask? Cuz I forgot my first one so had to set up another one, duh, lol. I wrote down both accounts and passwords in my log book now to keep up. I'm not stupid okay, in case you're laughing at me, just too busy and sidetracked and then forgot to log it all in :biggrin_25526:

I unloaded Monday in Bellville TX just outside of Houston. Then ran up to LIberty and picked a load of pipe going to Terre Haute In for Wednesday morning then reloading in Terre Haute going to Wichita Ks for when I get there. I live in Arkansas and am a company driver. I wanted to test the waters before I did a lease purchase. All the lease drivers I talked to were happy and making money. The trucks are priced right and seem to pay off quick. A guy in my orientation got one that was for 18 months. The miles vary but we get paid on percentage so I don't worry about miles as long as I get good paying loads. I know they do go to Canada and those loads pay real good. They also have a van division that I don't know much about. I am happy here. They are pretty straight foward in what they tell you and want you to succeed whether lease or company or owner op. I do not deal with the Ft Wayne office for loads I am loaded by a broker out of my hometown who is affilated with them and her husband is a owner op for them. They treat me good and seem to be a good fit for me.

I used to live in Fayetteville...love AR, in fact we are going to retire there many years from now. We have been told not to do the lease purchase route by many people. I don't know, I kinda think after reading your reply that the lease would be a good idea for us. I don't feel comfortable laying down the only cash we have saved up for something we aren't too sure of, just like you said about testing the waters. I like your idea much better. Since Buchanan seems to have some good trucks I'm going to talk to Jim about leasing. I really appreciate all you have told us CD. Keep in touch with us buddy and perhaps if we are anywhere near you we could hook up for dinner and good conversation. Safe travels my friend,

    Deb and Jim :Horses:

Glad I could help out if you have any more questions I try to answer or find out the answer. You can never have to much info before going to work somewhere. I ran reefets for quite some time before making the switch and will never go back. Well if it is a ha e to case I would. I usually don't get on here until I shut down for the day but yes let's stay in touch.

Just wanted to say I am still with Buchanan Hauling and still like it here. I was a company driver for about 3 months then switched over to lease purchase. I paid my truck off in December. They have a good lease purchase which can be tough at times but can be done. This company works great for me and gets me home when I want. If anyone has questions I will try to answer them.

    Lonesome Thanks this.
