dd15 drum noise

    any idea what could be causing a drum noise. i hear it during idle. no power loss. only issue i have is low fuel mpg. dd15 cas adia 2012. 870k miles

    Pull the big intake air hoses and ex. pipe off the turbo and ck for signs of rubbing on turbo housing, look for any oil on inside of ex. and intake pipes?

    u think its the turbo on its way out

    It wont take long to ck it by just removing pipes and ck.

    push the clutch during idle... see noise disappear or not...

    My DD15 was rebuilt for a head n head gasket, on restart had a squeak or squeal sound he said took it apart upper/lower bearing slightly scored, replaced on restart same noise he has it apart again and doesn’t see any issues , any ideas ??

    Have the belt taken off and start it up for a short time just to be sure the fan belt is not making the sound?
