No problem. I'm kinda in the same boat you are. I like what I've heard and seen, but then dislike other things. BUT, reading some of the negative posts, most of these people don't seem like they have a lot of grey matter between their ears. They just think it should be SOOOO easy that all they do is drive, load, drive, unload and repeat. Doesn't work that way. You wanna make the money, be patient, learn their system, find your own loads and don't settle for #### loads. Leave those for someone else to deal with. But, mind you, if you're in a place with #### freight and found a good load that a #### load would take you to go get it, why wouldn't you take it to at least help keep the DH down. But, that #### load needs to at least pay fuel and maintenance for the miles you turn to get to the good load. Running a bull wagon was no different. I'd see guys deadhead 500-1000 miles to get a $4-$4.25 a mile load, while is go grab a $3.75 a mile load that gets me halfway to that good paying load and still be on time to load that good load. Saying you'll never take a load under a certain amount is completely stupid. Work the loads smart and even the #### loads will pan out. And as a financial adviser always used to tell me, worry about monthly, not weekly. Your month's are what counts in the financial world, not weeks.

I would like to know if Eagle has a burgundy colored emblem on the doors? I noticed a couple of them the last couple days I was around NJ area. enjoy reading your thread even though I went with an "orange" lease". Could not get Eagle to contact me.

 

I don't know about the colors. I would assume that for different colored trucks that they would have different colored vinyl for the logo. And I had to actually turn in an application to get a recruiter to contact me. Once she did, it has been a nice downhill ride other than the mix up about my CDL. They thought I meant I had a learners permit lol.

 

I called eagle and spoke with Adam, eve before I filled out an app. Wanted the basics before I wasted my time e before I did the app. Wish there was a way to see exactly what's trucks are available before going down to Indy.

 

According to Quality's website, they have 11 locations and it states on their website that if they don't have what you're looking for at one yard, they might at another. I'll wait a few days or week to get what I want, not what's there at that time.

 

Thats kind of what I was thinking. Dont plan on just taking what they say they have available that day. I want to follow through and at the end own a truck I want to own, and not what they want to get rid of.

 

Will they not turn it off for you?

 

The trucks should be setup to let you idle in certain weather. Usually under 50° and over 80°, but having an APU on the truck, they probably just shut it off completely. I'd be in the shop faster than stank on #### to make them fix it ASAP. That's on there for your comfort and well being.

 

Look, for those of you going to Eagle orientation, when you get there don't worry about the trucks, when in class find a seat in the Eagle area, get on a computer that works, get logged on the system, do the video's, nothing happens until you finish the vids. Afterwards, call your recruiter to make sure all your paperwork has been sent to Celadon, because if that is not done, you will sit at the computer until it get's done, once paperwork comes through you will E-sign each one, once that is done, and you have a good drug screen, and you didn't hide anything on your app. then you can start thinking about the trucks.

Some guys were all about the trucks, but ended up having to leave because they didn't put everything on the application, or they messed up on the road test, one guy downshifted while crossing some railroad tracks, he was then disqualified and sent home. When you come into the school zones on the road test, slow down to the posted speed, even if no children are around, if not, disqualified.

After all that and you are in hired status, then worry about what truck you are going to get, and don't do like I did and not test your EPU, mine the heat isn't working, I froze my butt off in MI on my first run, all my blankets were at home, EPU still not putting out heat, but I went home and now I have my blankets. My DM found several loads that I can work over the weekend that will bring 4k to the truck by Tuesday, he and I worked the boards hard trying to get me out of the St Cloud MN area, he found a beer load that i picked up 18 miles away, going to NC, and from NC to IL, and then we will work on getting me back to Indy to have EPU worked on and to get the speed tuned up, they come out of the box between 63 and 65 mph.
