Engine light. Bad quality def. OTR HELP!

You got three choices. Buy a 5 gallon bucket someplace and use a siphon (most pilots have them in my experince) to get most of it out then backfill with jugged def to the brim.

Or you can add bottled def to try and dilute the bad def.

Lastly you can pay a shop.

Otherwise you get into more complicated fixes

 

I would run it to the next place that has a shop then have them code clear it if it doesnt go away on its own, some engine get persnickity about emissions stuff and a code clear will solve it. If the code comes back though it may be a diffrent issue, like a failing sensor.

 

Sounds like you need to keep running it until the bad def is out of the system. I would continue to top it off with good def as well.
