so I bought this Freightliner classic. Taken care of pretty well, but still needed several things. While I’m in the process of getting an apu installed, I need to get these last things sorted out

    Climate control:

Blower blows strong. Removed it and tested it out. How ever when on heat or vent , you can barely feel anything out of the vents.

Also on very cold days when the truck just starting, you can hear air leak from the position switch on the climate control. As the truck warms up, this goes away

Also same issue in sleeper, you can hear the blower, but barely anything out the vents

    Seating:

I have legacy silver seat. Sits to high in its lowest position. So I was looking to change. Also I’m used to my Cascadia seats which is kind of wide. Let’s me lean to the side from time to time. The legacy seat feels very fitted like a car seat.

Looking for something wider. Has anyone ever put a bostrom seat in their classic. If not, what would it take to get this in there.

Also my fan is always on now. But I was going to let mechanic sort that one out. Keep talking to
Him about vents and he keeps brushing it off saying it’s an old truck

Other then this my truck is in pretty good shape. Thanks all

Don't know about Classics but the Columbia I drove had filters on both the front and sleeper systems. When they get plugged you won't get much flow.

Lots of the older classics had air operated flaps for the vents. Could be crap in the line.

The flaps in some of the venting have sponge rubber type material on the edges to help seal the venting. In my truck this material fell off the flaps and plugged the air flow. Windshield would ice up in the winter.

Air would blow good out the console vents and heater setting. Just not much when set to defroster.
Tore the Dash apart to get at. Also the selector switch operates an air pressure switches to open and close the flaps. This was a constant air leak like you describe.
There is a small "+" shape air fitting that was the source of most the air leaking.

The bunk blower has a cowling surrounding it. All plastic. It breaks easy. ALso the ducting under the bunk comes apart easily.
    Good luck.

Thank you so much. Guess I’m going to have to figure out how to tear this dash apart

It comes apart easy, take top center dash off first. Center vent. Just screws.
    Good luck

You don't need to take top center dashboard off, your vent motor located on passenger side underneath dash, remove that covers witch below gloves box and there you will see another cover, 4screws and there's your ac vent, also they don't come with air filter and I guarantee that your ac core is blocked with dust just like mine was, so you need to remove ac vent motor and then you'll be able to see through that opening how bad that little radiator is blocked, that's why it's bearly blowing. I cleaned my last year and this year again have to do it. Also if your ac blowing warm temps chances are that your AC/Heat valve it bad, that's their common problem, you need to drain coolant to change that ones, unless you have a valve somewhere on line and you may just close it for season.
