I have seen some horror stories on just about all of the name brand goosenecks out there due to hit & miss quality control with the exception of GatorMade. Anyone have positive or negative comments on this brand?

2013, '14, '15 they had horrendous wiring issues when I was shopping around. Lot of pieced together, scotch lock craftmanship.. lol. I believe they've sorted than out now, using a fabricated sealed wiring harness like the rest..

The construction looks pretty good. They are heavy, you will give up 1,000- 1,500lbs payload, as Gatormade uses a 22lb per foot beam on their ~25k lb wagons where most use 19lb, some even 16lb beam.. IMO the 16lb is too light, the 19lb is perfect for up to 25,999lb GVWR 40' hotshot..

I can't speak to how well the powder coat holds up, but I'd see if they can prime it 1st, then power coat. ~6 years ago many companies were cheap'n out & not priming, & prepping poorly, causing the powder coat to flake off in notebook paper sized sheets..

All in all, I think they Gatormade has a quality product that would hold up well. Honestly, with the 40,000lb+ GVW hotshots are registering at nowadays, the extra 1,000lb tare weight may be of little concern to you. Happy shopping..

p.s. You didn't ask, but I'm really liking the looks of the FMax Diamond C's. Have not seen it in person mind you.. Fabricated main beams have an arch, are lightweight, & strong. Biggest downfall I see is I prefer Dexter axles, where I believe they are using Lippert..

They do make a nice looking trailer. Don't see many of them though. Seen some utility trailers now & then but not gooseneck hot shots.

Started out with one in 2008. Like Singlescrewshaker said had few wire issues. Heavy duty beam sturdy trailer. Like most trailer manufacturers depending on the day it was made. The power coating held up a lot better than my Load Trail. Will do a good job for off the lot trailer.

LoL, good to know Gator does a decent job on the paint..

My 2014 Loadmax powder coat job was horrendous!! Really my only complaint with that wagon. If I recall, was it your LoadTrail you had an axle issue, or something else.?

Totally agree, quality seems to depend heavily if she's a Friday afternoon build.. lol

Well, Gatormade made sure the price tag meets their quality. From what I saw back when I was looking for a trailer, their prices were roughly $7k more than the others. I went with a smaller outfit in Georgia for my trailer. I've had some small issues with it but for the most part, it hasn't been too bad and that's 150 loads later.

I've pounded the living snot out of my Diamond C this year at my business. The Lipperts hold up just fine and basically use all the same components as Dexters anyway. The only issue I had was with brakes and they were Kodiak electric over hydraulic discs (a Dexter owned brand). Once I got that squared away its been fantastic. Their powder coat is incredibly tough as well. My trailer sees a ton of crappy gravel back roads and I've been very happy so far. I got Max-Ramps instead of the hydro-tail because we've had less than stellar experiences with electric hydraulic setups in winter here in Alaska.
