I've seen 30+ trucks lined up at some of the silos. Made me feel like I was back in texas looking at the lines for people loading dand

Where you live will dictate how your average day will go.

And you win some and lose alot. Had days that places breakdown and only dump twice. Then have days it seems everyone else stayed home and dump 5 to 6 loads.

I personally dont do brokered grain. No money in that, that I see.

I always found it to be the other way around, out of the field always paid several times more than hauling grain out of the elevator.

Not for me. Out of field or off the farm is slow too. I will do it for some friends once in a while.

Couple years ago I hauled off the field for one guy, he'd load the cart and call me then by the time I got to him the combine was full too, he'd dump both and smile as I crawled out. Paid very well and was about 8 miles away from the elevator that didn't care how much you weighed!

The last time I hauled peanuts, I had 3 trailers and just dropped and hooked in the field, always had a load waiting on me. You can get a good load of gren peanuts in a 53 foot live bottom too. lol

Is that 53 footer a click-floor or a belt? We have a couple of 45 foot click-floors and a 48 foot belt trailer. They work pretty good for most things.
We have some rice ground and do all of our harvest hauling but they usually haul sawdust, bark, or wood chips.

Walking floor, no belts, probably what you are calling a click floor.

I assume those peanuts paid,,,peanuts? I'd think green peanuts would weigh a bit.

Unless you swept them out, there would be a thousand pounds or more left in the trailer, so at the end of harvest I would sweep them out in the barn and let them dry. These were valencia peanuts, good eating peanuts, we had enough to last all year and then some. lol

It has been right at 20 years since I messed with them, and I would run 1200 a day back them on a around 200 miles, so the pay was pretty good for the time.
I do not even remember what I got out of the field when I hauled wheat and milo, haven't done it since around 77 or so. I was just a kid and rented a farmers truck for harvest, but I made good money for the times.
