    Hello, just bought a truck 2months ago,everything was fine till I was driving and heard a big loud noise coming from the passenger side, took it too shop Freightiner could not find any problem except (1box) needed to be replaced supposedly it’s bad. Truck has 500k miles on it dd15 .. freightliner wants 11k $$$ to repair. My question is is it worth it ????

    Noise. Could be broken dpf substrate. Might only need new dpf. It your lucky.
    But yes with the miles on it the entire One-Box is due pretty soon anyway.
    If you trust the shop, go for it. otherwise take it to a proper Detroit shop for a second opinion.
