I think in one of the post on here someone talked about picking your truck. If I remember there advice was to look for one you wanted during breaks at orientation, then when it came time to pick you already knew which one you wanted. They also said that if what you wanted wasn't there you had to take what was available and in 90 days you could get into what you wanted.
Yeah I know having to settle for something for 90 days might not be what anyone wants to do with making the payments on it for 90 days, But there isn't another company I have seen that is willing to let you swap trucks in a lease to get the one you want.
IMHO I think it is a great deal and from what I have seen a good company. I have talked to them and what I read here is what they told me also. I just am not ready to get back in the O/O side of it. Hope this helps. I'm out.

 

Ask your hubby if he still prefers Petes after he spends some time with two people on the road in that truck. The 379's looked nice but I'm 6'1" with a dog as a travel partner and we were fighting eachother for space

 

JCT is always running ads in our local paper for their lease program.

 

Um Boone, look at my sig. We drove that truck with me, him, the 85 lb dog, and 2 cats for over a year. We never really had an issue on space /shrug. Yeah the century is bigger, so was the 387, but in a 379, I can be real close in the passenger seat

 

Well, its obviouse you all like eachother but what did you do when the kitties started picking on the dog?

 

The cats pretty much were on a 34 every day, all they did was sleep on the bunk, or the dash very little rowdiness. They saved that for home time like good little truckers

 

When I was on the road a co-company driver had a cat that would operate the air horn. I dont know how polite the cat was, but the cat did like that cord

You and hubby want to run 3-6000 miles a week with JCT. The only way we (hubby and I) see that happening is that you take a dedicated run from Lake Wales FL to Walnut Creek CA. That according to Google and Mapquest 2900 miles. But if you and hubby want to go OTR long haul with JCT we don't see that happening. JCT wants runners. JCT talks miles. Over the year we have been with them we don't see long haul teams running those miles. I hope this doesn't double post. The teams that we talked to are running around 7000 miles a week. Something you might want to consider with those miles. My hubby is solo and we're running around 3500 miles a week. We have an International Eagle. He had one previous owner so his APU is paid for. But we have our down payment of $114.00 a week, (which that down payment will drop off at the end of the first year), truck payment $585.00 a week, and then the weekly take out of around $270.00 a week. I don't know what the weekly payments would be of a KW or Pete. Yesterday we talked to another JCT driver and he has a Cascadia and he's paying $565.00 a week truck payment, $109 a week down payment and $89.00 a week for the first 2 years for his APU. Another thing to consider is that little letter at the end of a truck's number. Ours is a "B" because he had one previous owner. Someone had an "I" yesterday, so there was 8 previous owners. That to me is important because it shows how many people put wear and tear on that truck. So just think about the miles what comes out a week just so you don't go into the hole. I don't foresee as a team, but crazy things can happen, things come up out of your control, but you got to remember no matter what they will take out those truck, down payments, and APU payments no matter what. You can defer a truck payment if you have to, but I want to get this truck's payments out of the way so we can pocket that $2,340.00 a month instead of putting it toward the payments. Just things to consider.
