    Hello everyone,

So due to a dramatic change of events I got my DZ license instead of my AZ.

Does anyone know any companies hiring new dz drivers? Any input would be appreciated as I have been looking everywhere.

I do have a second interview with Gordon Food Service coming up.

    Thanks in advance

Canada cartage occasionally has DZ jobs, if you look on indeed you can find a bunch on there. Best bet is to go anywhere that takes you, work for a year and move on to somewhere else. Why flop on the AZ license?

DZ license are straight trucks or dump trucks. Think max weight 26,001 pounds or something like that.

I didn’t end up taking the GFS job, so still looking. Excessive handbombing didn’t seem too appealing. Any suggestions?

Try sysco better than GFS (less handbombing required) and union

GFS is also a disaster in General. 18+ hour days, people usually burnout or get injured in 6-8 weeks; then they get fired.

The GFS in Edmonton is a royal pain in the butt. I refuse to go there again.

The one in Calgary (Rockyview) isn’t much better. The reefer outfit I’m with, told them we will no long live unload there; drop only. So their genius shunt drivers open the doors of our loaded trailers, drive across the facility, plunk it in a door (reefer running the whole time, sucking up hot air) leave it for 6-8 hours and then start unloading it. As you might imagine, everything is wet, and ####ed! I think we’re dropping them as a customer soon, Bison can have it, way to many headaches.
