My son was hauling grain today in our '94 Pete with the Detroit motor. He said his check engine light briefly came on, then he lost power, then light blinked again, and he was going like normal. I asked him to describe what happened and he said the motor was still running, but like at an idle, when he stepped on the accelerator nothing happened, then when the check engine light blinked once more, everything was back to normal.
Any idea what happened, and what I might want to check to make sure it doesnt happen again?
thanks,

Could have lost throttle pedal for a second there. Hickups do happen. If the engine runs fine, keep going with it. If it happens a few more times I would check it out. The ECM will log the fault every time it happens to help diagnose the problem.

can be a sensor on the go

It does sound like the pedal. Similar thing happened to me but it would kill the motor all together. Ended up being the main power wire to the ECM broke inside its insulation.
