First time was heading west on i-90. Stopped at an open port in Sundance a day before. Around 4am I saw a sign “open”, mostly I kept my eyes on the road as it was snowy and covered in black ice, therefore I was going not faster than 50-55mph. I was trying to find an exit to the port, passed couple of regular exits, then it came to my realization I missed it. Nobody chased me down though.
Am I going to get a ticket, if yes, do I get any points on my DL?

Are you talking about the one north of Sheridan? That one is a joint port with Montana. If they can see your picture good enough and want to chat with you they just phone ahead to the scale west of Billings. But you probably don’t have anything to worry about.
Suspect Zero, Brettj3876 and Studebaker Hawk Thank this. -
SMH, what part of going down the ramp into the scalehouse don't we understand? Weather has nothing to do with it.

Yes, there, on the opposite side. Should I return next time if it happens again (I hope it won’t?) Thanks

If it says open then it’s open and you need to exit and pull into the scale. Or not. It’s your call. You can probably run it 99 times but it could be the 100th time that they have a chase car.
PE_T Thanks this. -

I’ve bypassed it when the ramp was covered in ice and the parking lot was not bladed at all. I was not about to ride that train because roads were clear and I was moving.
