If you cross border always turn off the unit before customs window at border and make sure you turn back ON before you start driving after crossing international border.
2. Buy good Infrared Temperature sensor , it's worth , use it on Break checks as well to see if your buy or brakes are too hot comparison to other 7 , less then 100 dollars.
3. Buy airline one side glad hand and other side quick fitting , yes at truck stops and buy long nozzel air gun from Walmart , glad hand it and insert from drain hole go inside trailer and connect air gun or nozzel sand blow dry good. It works , just not good on blood after meat loads.
Also use that on radiator to blow out dust salt mosquito etc and run cooler and smarter.
4. Keep good gauge wire to jump start reefer to truck batteries or truck to reefertaodnt and rollin coal Thank this. -
Think , Double check and go..
Some meat loads are on floor also Potatoes Onion loads are on floor , I don't say don't use Breaks but keep in mind hard emergency brakes can move shift the load to front even non slippery rubber pads are under.
Best of luck and be safe out there. -
Do not over full tank with diesel or you will have orange with fault code check fuel sensor , over filling tank up to forehead will blind the sensor and trigger the code 98.
Talking about thermo king
Keep fault code list hAndy in truck -
I found too that if duel temp ,the rear has to work harder to composite the front,if regular trl the trl ,the rear will be warmer, look up in celing if has a air chute ,if so not damage anyway ,do a pre Trip on it like your truck buy a thermal gun ,you can open your vent door and shoot it inside,if loading onions leave vent door open ,never run below half and always fill before going on 34 break ,carriers are more noesyer then thermo king the temp is always off on panel by 5 degrees, study u tube alot to reset codes, sometimes you have to go inside the unit and dis cont the battery to clear the codes ,keep the unit running in winter and always on cont in winter time when gets below 12

Remember to turn on the refer unit if the trailer has been sitting for awhile to precool before picking up a load. Some shippers will not load the product unless it is cooled down to a certain temperature inside the trailer.

And always carry a simphon hose with ya as well as jumpwr

After emptying a frozen load, run at 35f continuous for 45 minutes to an hour [and through a defrost cycle] before shutting of. This will dry out the condensation inside the trailer so it doesn't have a chance to start letting mold and mildew develop inside [especially in dirt-laden floors] as temps warm up inside, before next loading.
Once mold/mildew sets up inside the aluminum floor pores, it's hard to get the mildew odor out.taodnt Thanks this. -
Also carry lots coffee, tide ect i use to get all the damage tide dry crystal i could same for coffee ,once empty sprinkle around takes all the ordors away

A lot of good points from all. You could write a book on all the things to consider while pulling reefer. This thread is a good starting point but experience is the best teacher.
Everett Thanks this.
