Hey guys, I've seen a lot of adds hiring for sand haulers in Midland Odessa area and in NM.

I used to haul water in the big lake area, doing otr now and wanting to go back. Clean record, 2+ years with license.

I'm looking for a smaller company, since it's the only one who will have what I'm looking for, all the main ones have elogs and only let you work 12 hours lol.

I want to work 24 hours (obviously not straight, I'm pretty sure you sleep with all that wait time lol). I don't mind living in the truck, I already do lol. Never done sand but I want to make sure I get paid stand by time, as I've seen with sand you get a lot of that. Are there any companies like that still around? I'm sure theyre hard to come by and you have to know someone to get in since I bet they don't advertise much.

Anyway, reply to me in a pm if you have any suggestions, for west Texas, nm, Oklahoma area.. thanks

Not many companies still paying demurge (stand by) time and the ones that do you will find out there are exceptions like it doesn't start for 24 hours or my personal favorite you sit in a truck stop for 30 hours empty (unpaid) and they only call you for a load when the well is already out of sand. You can still find hourly sand hauling jobs or you can just wait for the price of oil to come back up again if ever?

That's an interesting point. I read an article a couple months back arguing that the continued oil slump combined with the constant improvements in e-cars could be a perfect storm for the oil industrial. If oil demand stays low long enough while these cars become more viable there may not be another oil boom. The oil industry isn't going away anytime soon, but it might just keep chugging along at $40-50/bbl. It's a long shot but stranger things have happened. I believe this article was on oil price.com, so it had a little more credit than say the HuffingtonPuffington Post.

The guru's like $60 oil next year, that's enough to spur a restart. Apache just found 3 billion bbls West of Fort Stockton.

There's a lot of chatter and plans being made......keep your fingers crossed.

I was running sand west of Ft Stockton two years ago right off University rd. It was a little out of the major plays but they were fracing there.

Take a look at TCT. They are the only ones that I know of not running elogs. But they're not a training company. They might make an exception for the right driver. I haven't heard of companies not paying demurrage, so that's new to me. I know that, personally, they can go pound sand if they aren't going to pay me demurrage.

I also don't see sluggish oil prices for too much longer. Not since Trump won and has repeatedly vowed to remove most regulative restrictions on the energy (specifically oil) sector.

I think most economists would argue that the current sad state of the oil industry isn't due to regulation, it's due to too much supply and too little demand. Yes, reducing regs will help the industry, but $40-$50 oil is probably too low to make non-convential plays profitable.

OPEC is announcing a cut in production. Don't know if that's going to help.

I completely agree with that. I also think that Trump will be able to push oil up to at least $60-$70/bbl. And that's what everybody agrees is a happy medium.

OPEC is unstable and likes to change their mind just about every other day. That cut in production also hinges on whether Russia and Iran will cut production too.
