Its time to vote the union in. There has been silent votes going on at several locations this week. Senior drivers are tired of the mess Bentonville and these non experienced drivers have put us in. Vote the union in.

Nope, sorry, it's the designated union break time. Drop everything right now and go take your break.

ok, vote the union in, and all the new drivers that are there now, will be union members.....what then..??

that will not cure your problems.

the company will have flexability in hiring, reassigning drivers, etc.

and the union is powerless, up to a point where they WILL PROTECT the new batch of dummies that get hired on, from being fired....

It's someone else's job to worry about it. Don't need to be thinking about it unless you want to loose your pension. for whatever that is worth nowadays...

i cannot fully quote federal labor laws, but i do believe that no company can stop a union organization to give a presentation and put it up for a vote. in other words, the company cannot stop employee's from organizing.

there is an entire process to follow, under federal labor laws, and wally world cannot prevent it.

if the union is voted in, it is not immediate, it takes time, contract language has to be spelled out and i can assure you that the employer will have many clauses, ammendments, etc, to a standard contract, which WILL give them flexability in how the operate.

that might mean, that the drivers that do not now load/unload..??? may now be REQUIRED to do so....

maybe even changing of routes, from lalrger to smaller, cutting into the drivers pay

however, if the union is not voted in...then repurcussions can take place from the employer.

it's a fine line to walk.

been there, seen it, been thru it.....

I was teamsters twice, I would not recommend going union. Union of old is dead, union now only cares about itself, just like the rest of corperate america. First teamsters was in harrison mich. Second teamsters was in cedar rapids Iowa. My experience is not an isolated incident. Issues I have with unions, u have no say what so ever what your contract says u just vote Yes or no. U have no say where your union dues go. U have no say what political contender ur dues support. Unions also have a tendency to price your wages right out of a job. Most unions shops Ive worked with end up going out of business due to unable to keep up with union wage demands.,
