Not sure how to quote multiple people but this is a question for you both. So basically, you’re only running 450-500 miles a day but you’re also never actually stopping, right? I assume one of those is a short day. This is all also assuming freight allows it.

But again, if you make sure your average “on duty” time is 8.75 hrs a day, you won’t run out of hours.Itsbrokeagain, Jarhed1964, Lonesome and 4 others Thank this. -
In order to run recap and never run out of your 70, you use a max of 8.75 total on duty hours per day...(8.75 x 8 = 70). For every minute you go over that per day, one of the next 8 days has to be under by the same amount. I personally hate running recap. I too would rather burn my 70 up with as much drive time per day as possible, then reset...since miles = money, I would rather get the miles in the bank asap.

@supersnackbar have you ever looked in to Combined Transport? There's a guy about a mile up the road from me that runs very "snackbar" like, literally gone for a few months at a time and then home for 4-5 days, looks like he's pulling a rgn style double drop, and I'm not too far south of you down here in Ocala so at least we know they hire from the area.
Gearjammin' Penguin and Lonesome Thank this. -
I have actually been considering checking in to @runningman0661's old company (FCC) on their flatbed division...I need to get more physical (up to a point)Lonesome, Speed_Drums, runningman0661 and 3 others Thank this. -
You should go with FCC. It’s all sunshine and daffodils reading the blogs. But once you get there we’ll find out the the real scoop on that place. They will probably give you another mega turdliner special Freightliner to driver but keep us posted. Just kidding Snackbar. Don’t make another mega mistake.
Frank Speak and Jarhed1964 Thank this. -
The guy that lives near me never comes home loaded so I’m not sure what he hauls, definitely not a glass trailer though. I figured I’d throw it out there because there’s not too many road warriors like you left out here, and this fella seems to be one, seemed like he was out at least a few months this go around.
Jarhed1964, Speed_Drums and dwells40 Thank this. -

And no more reefer issues or grocery warehouses to deal with. Sounds like a win win to me.

Got my Sam Adams delivered in FL just fine, which is a true miracle because the most direct route took me thru Baltimore and DC. But, it was on a Sunday, so I figured traffic would be somewhat lighter...and I figure wrong. Although going out and around would have used just as much time as traffic. Plus, I swear those bridges on the Richmond bypass are getting rougher, even for an air ride trailer. Got empty early, but my 70 is getting really thin, so I told my A/M to show me available for tomorrow morning since I blew 90 extra minutes in D/C-Richmond traffic. But, I asked to see which way they're gonna have me head to pick up, I had enough time to run to Wildwood if I were picking up in Leesburg, or enough time to make the Love's north of the Auburndale Coca-cola customer...they sent me a load out of Auburndale Coke, drop and hook, ready now...being the ever pushing-my-luck type, I decided that I had enough time to get there, get the load, and make it to Love's before they were filled up and my logbook was empty. And it worked, plenty of parking and I still had 20 min on my 70. However, they now put a 'No-Thru Trucks' sign up on FL-559 (which is the winding road that runs directly south of the Love's thru the residential area, around the lakes, and right to the Coke plant)...Sometimes a blind squirrel does indeed find a nut(and he didn't see the No Thru Trucks sign this time either)...now I am headed to Salem, VA for Thursday evening.
Speed_Drums, Jarhed1964, dwells40 and 1 other person Thank this.
