I've got runs that go through Fort Worth and the traffic with the construction and all there is bad especially around rush hour traffic so I've been taking the tolls and wow do they like their tolls there. I ran the tolls going north and then coming back south and the price came to around 66 dollars. Originally I thought they had made a mistake because they put on their bill that I had 6 axles which I do not. Regular truck with regular flatbed so 5 axles. Anyways I called them and they said they'd look into it and a couple of days later they left a message saying that they charge a flat fee for big trucks regardless of the axle count. Anyways can anyone verify that these fees are correct? I also go through Houston sam Houston tolls and the I30 tolls through Austin both are far less than the fort worth tolls. I do have an EZ tag also.

Here's the bill for this week from their website. Ridiculous.

Most of those toll roads have a fluctuating toll cost. The more traffic is backed up the higher the toll is. I run the express lanes coming out of Dallas often and once it was $10 and the next time it was $22 for the same trip. That's when I learned about their pricing. I saw a price on the 183 express lanes one day that was $27 to run the last mile of the toll road cause there was a 10 minute back up on 183. I sat in traffic that day.

Right. That was the other thing the lady said. Trucks have flat rate and it changes depending on what time of day it is. Figuring out how much it will cost is a bit difficult. Is taking this toll today gonna cost me 50 bucks or 5 bucks who knows. I'll figure it out though.

Most of the express lanes have rates posted on a digital board. Take the middle rate and multiply it by 4 and that's how much trucks will pay.

Paying for IFTA and toll roads Yay.
I tend to use the “avoid toll roads” option on my Garmin Dezl unit and it only scared me once but I ended getting off the toll road before I pay.

I use both and compare the time difference. If it says taking toll will same me 30 minutes I will consider it. Most of the time it's just a 10-minute difference or around that.

Don't mean to hijack but I think it's valid. I don't run TX much but last week I was in Humble headed east on 10 so I took 8 around (from 69 to 10). I don't have an EZtag or whatever, just EZpass which works about every where else I run. Just after I got on I figured out that I had screwed up.

Any idea what this will cost me? Will they just send me a bill or is it a ticket for the unaware?
