There's also a reason why thats all you see on chckenhauler's row at the truck stops..they are the nicest riding trucks built
A freightshacker will vibrate your fillings out on a rough road, I don't know about the new cascadias but its a freigtshaker.
volvos aren't quite as bad
Internationsals are in between volvos and freightshakers
Never been in a mack
My KW was better than all those..
But my Pete outshined even the KW..it was also the heaviest of the two
Petey

I like the Peterbilt trucks. There are different models and some are ugly, in my opinion, but I like the 389. I like the Peterbilt 378 and 379 a little better though. One thing I dislike about many more modern trucks is the headlights buried in the fenders and looking like teardrops. It looks like soccer-mom's crossover wannabe SUV with tandem drive axles and a 53' van trailer.
I like trucks that loomk like trucks. Too many curvy lines turn me off! I also dislike the new International Lonestar. Don't try and tell me it looks like a '39 International. It doesn't! Why not make a tractor that actually looks like a '39 International! -
I like the new International

I don't know how a Pete drives ( though I have heard the stories, all good ) I gotta say, them and the KW's look GOOD!
I saw a real mean looking KW day cab today. Nice fat dual pipes.
I aint seen a Pete I didn't wanna drive. Yet to drive one.
The Volvo's are ok. As far as driving/riding. IMO, under powered.
Drove some older model of International in school. It kinda reminded of a Pete the way it looked.
I noticed when we started out on the docking manuever with the Volvo's and then went to the International, sticking your head out the driver window did not give you a view of the entire side of the truck because of the flaring in the sleeper berth and stacks.
But I hear some people saying you shouldn't look out the window and rely solely on mirrors. IMO, I think if you need to look out the window to get a different picture, do it. lol
Been in an automatic 2012 Volvo day cab with some nice rims and super singles with my trainer lately. Hopefully (maybe tomorrow) we'll be in the 10spd Freight Liner. The volvo does look kinda nice like that when it's nice and clean. -
The Pete is easy and forgiving to drive. It was my favorite at school.

This is one of the funniest thread. I am still not sure this guy is pulling your legs or challenged a little bit, but he made 16 pages, + me too.
I am not fun of the classic trucks either, but they are beautiful and the American icons. For hobby I would have a Pete 379. But I have different hobbies. To work I have a Volvo 770 with Detroit engine. It is true, at age of ten years, her market value dropped to 0.00$, but at 14, she still has the same value. And I plan to keep for a couple more years.
And little oil for the fire: I think the Ford T-model is a beautiful car too. -
Peterbilt and Kenworth are about quality; All the others are just trying to sell their trucks with cheaper manufacturing.

Flat Top Peterbilts are beautiful

For those of you guys who think that all the newer generation coming into trucking like these aerodynamic trucks, think again!! im not a trucker yet, not old enough yet lol. im 17 and honestly have always LOVED the looks of the w900 and 379. never ever really cared for the aerodynamic trucks, certain ones LOOK OK, but id rather have a long nose kw or peterbilt!!
