I know they hire new grads, most of the work they do out of Lakeland is local. I'm not sure if they're looking for local drivers right now? I should be heading into the terminal in the next few days, I'll ask if they're looking for local drivers.

Drive slow make slow turns take off slowly and stop slowly pop has a tendency to fly off the pallet when things are done fast trust me you dont want to be picking up pop and re working it every time you get to a customer and if ya get the job the inside of the trailers get icy from broken pop the pallet jack will roll you over

You are not going to get a local job in Tampa Florida,
While living in New Jersey, with zero driving experience.
Why would any local company waste their time.

You've got nothing to offer yet.
    No experience,
    Your from another state,
And they got drivers with experience who live 20
    Minutes away from them.

Either load up and move to Florida and change
Your drivers license over, or get a OTR job with
A company that's based in Florida.

Make some money, get some experience,
    Get settled in.
Then while you home for time off apply to those
    Local jobs.

He literally just said in the post above you that he starts the job on Monday.

I also successfully got my first driving job the same way. Applied to a few different local jobs in another state, drove down and did a few interviews, got hired on the spot at US Foods.

So what’s the reason for not doing a local gig in NJ ? Did your current job pay well enough for you to stay away from CDL life in NJ. Most other areas will kill to have a Northeast driver who’s driven the Northeast with not at fault accidents and clean records especially since it’s tight NYC/Philly/DC/Boston. Congrats on the Pepsi job

Comes to find out that the reason i didnt get the pepsi position in tampa was because the guy that i knew who works there told his managers thst he didnt knew me to not hire me and the problem was because his baby mother is best friends with my wife and he was having issues with her so he just wanted to become a #######

this is why i NEVER recommend anyone for a job at any place i worked at, or i NEVER wanted anyone else to recommend me for a job at thier place.

get a job on your own merits and accomplishments, and just do not depend on "word of mouth help"...

don't matter if one is many years experienced or fresh out of school, do it on your own, and owe NO ONE nuffin.

better luck to you next time, and DO NOT BE so dependent on others. this should be a lesson learnt.
