A manager in the process of job searching has advised a few of his close drivers that the cuts are far from over in the transportation offices.
If you haven’t figured it out yet, Walmart doesn’t want a private fleet anymore. They were not expecting so many drivers to depart this soon and believed many were dumb enough to think this is the best job in trucking so a few of the next phases are currently delayed.
What we’re looking at in the upcoming months to the drivers still here are taking away your layover pay entirely and bringing the rest of the fleet down to the new pay scale. If more drivers quit it will be in the best interest of the company as they prepare to award large bids to other carriers.
It really is sad to see the few drivers online in the Walmart Facebook page who can’t fill out an application elsewhere and say it’s still the best job. Will you be saying this when your pay is further effected?
Walmart Drivers need to quit now

Thanks so much for caring about us that are still here. I will keep this in mind. Until pay gets slashed, days off get cut, or layover gets axed I'll ride it out.
How's, things working out for you over at Amazon Jeff?Dave_in_AZ, RedBeardedT, 06driver and 1 other person Thank this. -
Won't be the first company to cut there layover pay completely. And multiple private carriers are doing what ever to save money. Don't worry it's not just WM. And as for the fleet, WMT cost WM to take a big loss after the TM accident with KR. So why not sell off the fleet to a outside carrier?
WM won't be liable for any other truck wrecks then. And all kinds of OTR companies can get ppl to do a L/P. All they would have to say is We pull WM freight we can keep the truck moving. We pay .88 cpm plus fuel surcharge. And offer 15 and up non governed volvos. Come join the Hayk Group base out of Aslip, IL. "We pay settlements every two months, maybe!"Western flyer, WallyDriver06 and drvrtech77 Thank this. -
Im not surprised.
Next up would be robotics to shift 8 trailers of something into 12 store bound trailers for the next evening stocking. Im pretty sure temps are cheaper than robotics for that kind of work still.KB3MMX Thanks this. -
Just to clear the records, all of this has been in the works before the TM incident and GS stepping foot on property. This is a huge fleet elimination plan that will finalize in 2019.
For years, this company has secretly hated us and now the cat is out of the bag and Bentonville is not afraid to show their true colors. -
