Water in the truck?

I had a simular setup to this for years in the oilfield. Used a 5 gallon metal jerry can though in mine and a battery powered pump. Pump died and i just never replaced my system. Was pretty nice though. One thing to note is use a metal "sink". I just used an old industrial buffet tray. Plastic ALWAYS starts to meldew after a few weeks.

 

Honestly considering what ive seen in those lots.....its likely an improvment. As for mold, true but my problem was i was always working with crude so it would trap stuff in pockets in the plastic no matter how often i wiped it down or rinsed it and would grow mold after a few weeks.

May not be as bad for you though. Plus you can use a magnet to stick the pan out of the way. I used to mag it to the bottom of my bunk.

 

I’ve been wanting to do something like that for years. My thoughts were a large tank, in the shelf above the sink. SS bar sink, plastic faucet, drain out bottom of Truck. I doubt a drain trap is needed. Unless a bug flew in, Lol. No pump, just gravity fed for simplicity. Pressure would be better of course when tank was full, dropping as tank emptied. Tank could be filled with gallons drinking water, for making coffee, brushing teeth, washing hands. Now my wife and I typically leave out with 10 gallons of water. They’re in the way most of the time. Mold would only be an issue, if not used for extended time. A tiny amount of bleach would take care of that, flushing it out, before using again.

 

Interesting concept… I currently use a 5 gallon carboy with a Prima battery pump to pump fresh water for my morning coffee or flavored drinks… but something like this would be an improvement if I can control it from the handset vs button on top of the pump setting atop the carboy.

My current setup works for moms for now, but ya, I might have to do some thinking on the next steps.

The hand spray is handy for making coffee. Been using it at home for years. Be nice in the Truck. Even a fixed sticker above coffee pot would be handy. Using gravity only.

 

My Uncle has a water cooler dispenser in his Shop. Refills the bottle. Something like that maybe. Bottle would need to be secured of course. That’s all I’d need. Placed directly over my coffee pot. Maybe a bar sink with an insert top on it. Set the coffee pot on top. Moving it over, to use sink. I see the big bottles of drinking water at Wal mart.

 

You've got plenty of room in that 84in bunk. Couple of months i drove my uncle's classic that felt like a house compared to my 60in mid Lol
