i worked for werner as a driver, team driver and a trainer..i have never heard of anyone having to repeat all of their hrs, but due to an increasing amt of accidents and decreasing trk availability, some have had to do more than 300. they pay u more if thats the case. they like team drivers, but teaming is hard. i wouldnt team with anyone that u dont know well..
hunts2much Thanks this. -
Hey iroc, so are you considering becoming an O/O?

I agree that 400 is better then nothing. I just wanted to give you a heads up so if when you get your 300 hrs in and they say we want you to do another 40 or so or after you test out and they say we dont have a truck right now but you can continue with a trainer for 400 a week it wont piss you off. If they throw a curve and you knew it was coming then it's easier to take in stride. When you get to Indy ask when you check in if the room has a micro and fridge (a few dont) there is a micro in the drivers lounge (room 182). Also you dont know if your trainer will have a cooler so I wouldnt bring a lot of stuff that needs refridgeration. You can buy at any truck stop a little oven (a little bigger then a bread pan) for $25. It heats up to 350 degrees and I eat better and a lot cheaper in the truck doing it this way. The oven takes a tin foil tray that you put your food in to cook it, do not buy these at a truck stop (very expensive) get them at wal mart, $1.50 for a set of three. If you dont have a truck atlas and money is an issue then I would use the trainers and buy one later. They let you use one at Indy but not for keeps. They'll give you one when you test out if they have any at the terminal. If you buy one make sure it's a truck atlas. If you have an issue with your trainer then call your SDM at once and get a new trainer. If it starts out bad it will only get worse and why put up with the frustration. Truck stops are nasty dangerous places so always be alert and when I say dangerous I mean there are people that will do you great harm hanging around. Nasty in the sense of the kind of people that hang out at them. Keep in mind that the sun isnt always shinning and the road is always smooth and clear, sometimes your on 95 outside of DC (dont matter what time or day) and that sucks, try to stay positive. Your next load might have you shooting across the country on I40 heading for sunny climes
Griller, cpassey and hunts2much Thank this. -

They are not letting you stay more than 1 week after completing hrs now. Expect 3 to 5 weeks LOA with no pay after completing training hrs. A buddy of mine teamed with a friend of his and got truck within days of completing required hrs. So yeah team definitely helps.
