Anyone that is putting you in a lease purchase with less than a couple years experience in the last five years is going to be a more interesting place then you are now

At what point did I say I had no idea what I'm doing? Was it because, unlike most drivers, I purpose to become an expert?

What, exactly, makes you think those quotes do not apply?

Perhaps my post caused you distress because you assumed I am not good with money because I failed to furnish you with my complete financial portfolio?

Please calm down. Try not to stress. Repeat to yourself: "I don't have a horse in this race...I don't have a horse in this race...I don't have a horse in this race..."

Why is that? Anyone who puts me in a truck with less than two years recent experience must, I assume, be following their company policy.
Am I mistaken in assuming your hostility stems from my gender, rather than your assumption of my lack of experience?

Nope it's just as you stated the insurance is cost prohibitive to put drivers of any gender behind the wheel in that capacity ...none the less the overall failure rate on lease purchases is near 100% ....so my guess is you are thinking you will make more money paying all your expenses and get more miles as you stated . It unfortunately rarely if ever works like that I have quite a few men that work for me that went through those lease purchase deals and they are not written for drivers.

Now the elephant in the room is that huge chip on your shoulder . No fleet cares if you are a woman personally I prefer women their safety rating is usually higher . You stated you didn't have money to buy a truck out right and at your age you really don't have time to re establish your experience and build a business from the ground up . Honestly leased on to the right carrier with a truck you own or a job that pays you right would be the most logical option imo .....but like you said not my problem good luck

I don’t have a horse in this race
I don’t have a horse in this race
I don’t have a horse in this race
    ....

I’m breathing deeply , listening to relaxing calming music and thinking serenity now serenity now ...

Ah yes I do feel better now.

In all the years I’ve been in this business I’ve never met a single person that said doing a lease purchase was a good idea but I lost count of how many people say what a bad idea it was.

There are a lot of bad companies out there. Whether you are a company driver, a lease operator, or paid cash for your truck.

But, if you cannot manage a paycheck you cannot manage a business.

Les Brown also said, "You cannot expect to achieve new goals or move beyond your present circumstances unless you change." I really believe that he meant to change your mindset.

Getting with a company that pays you well and using your greatest wealth building tool, your paycheck, is an intentional act. There are lots of people that are going to die broke or deeply in debt. If they want to do it in a fleece lease, let them.

One thing you can do is stop perpetuating the myth that you have to "pay your dues." Just because someone can come into the industry today at twice what you make doesn't mean they didn't pay their dues, it just means that you settled and you don't know your worth. That a "you" problem.

You said yourself that you are not good with money. It's right here, it doesn't take a leap to come to that conclusion.
