Okay I get it COI is Certificate of Insurance.

If your insurance charges you $35 for each Certificate of Insurance you got to get away from them immediately.

Say what you want about Progressive but Progressive is there until about 2 in the morning and they're open seven days a week and anytime you call them they'll send you a Certificate of Insurance to anyone that you want.

I have never heard of an insurance company that charges for certificates of insurance.

 

Getting Progressive Commercial on the phone was a huge PIA for me. It's one of the reasons I left them but I could issue COIs myself from the website 24/7. IMO, that's mandatory. If I can't do them immediately myself when I need them I would pass. COIs didn't cost anything but adding an AI does since you're essentially adding them to YOUR insurance policy.

 

You can do it online but I've never even once had a problem getting a hold of progressive at anytime of the day or night.

I'm not sure if the number that I have is a regular commercial line or what it is but they have done countless numbers of them for me and I've had absolutely no problem getting a hold of them.

Now I'm not calling my agent I'm calling Progressive directly.

 

Interesting. I was calling the Commercial line and having hold times over 1 hour. I finally stopped trying and told my agent she had to do it.
