I work for CRST not trying to recruit you just wanted to clear up a few things. Last post about company was for the most part accurate, but a few things have changed. Just figured I could give you the facts so you know for sure.
    1. Contract is now 8 months
    2. No longer paid mileage during training paid a salary of 350.00
    3. After first month pay increases to .22 a mile at the end of 4th month .24 and at end of 6th month .33
    4. Now you can be a little more choosey about who you team up with, but only if you are firm and don't let them push you around.
    5. They do now bpay breakdown and layover pay its only 40.00 a day, but better than nothing. Also they will reimburse motel, sometimes you have to push for it though.
    6. They are starting to pay more detention pay.

Other than that the last post was accurate. The shops do suck, some of the trainers are crappy, and the o/o (some) will just use you as free labor. I myself am a company trainer. Like I said not trying to recruit you. If you do decide to go with CRST just remember not to let them push you around and if you and your codriver, dispatcher, trainer, ect. are not working out, you can get rid of them and get a new one. Hope it works out for you.

Nope, not there. But I can sure identify with your fear. I went to school at Arkansas State University... THe absolute most stressful thing I've ever done.

Only advise I can give you is: Do what ever you can to relieve that stress because YOU WILL DO IT, YOU WILL SUCCEED, and IT WILL BE ALRIGHT. Stress and worry only shorten your life.

And too, remember, the others there will probably be as stressed as you...except for a couple of blow-hards that know everything about everything..

Hang in there cause (again....IT WILL BE ALRIGHT.)

    Hi Onyxxanjel,

Wow, you are pretty local. I'm in Forest Hills (South Williamson area).

Are you scared because of school in general, or because of CRST?

Are you going to the American Driving Academy there in Louisa?

If so, is CRST paying for the training? If not, you can always change your job choice. If they are, did they make you sign a contract to work for them after your CDL training?

Sorry to ask so many questions, just trying to help out.

Unfortunately, I have no information for you regarding CRST. I've never worked for them.

I have, however, seen a lot of the Driving school students from Louisa. I was in Louisa one afternoon Parked in the Hardee's lot eating my lunch when a group of them pulled in and some of the students wanted to see my truck and ask questions about my employer. They all drive single axle freightliner tractors and 45 to 48 foot vans. The tractors are second hand Old Dominion tractors. I think they do schooling for several companies instead of exclusively CRST. The students I spoke with said that the instructors were very good and they are willing to work with you on your weakensses.

I don't know where you'lll stay down there. I don't theink they have a dormitory on site. The students I spoke with were locals.

At any rate, you should do fine, everyone is nervous when they go to school. The main thing is to remember... Nothing is too big to overcome. It just takes determination.

I see your avatar. You made it through boot camp. Truck driving school will be a challenge, but a good and interesting one. You'll do fine and they don't yell as much.

So you joined Crash and Roll Stunt Team! I can't stand team driving, and some of the CRST guys are dirty, real dirty. Like haven't seen water or soap for a long time.

School is the easy part, and when I was in Mira Loma, they treated the CRST guys better then the England guys (we went to the same school)
