Hey y’all, dropped a dt12 for a clutch actuator issue and was gonna change the rear main seal since it was dripping from the little hole in between engine and tranny, rear main seal was changed back in February when the split pin bushing was done on the trans so it was weird to me that it was leaking again, after dropping the trans removing clutch and flywheel, the rear main seal looks dry, see picture, the input shaft seal was also replaced in February and is dry as well, I’ve noticed there’s oil behind the rear main seal lip but no traces of it dripping down or on the flywheel, starter has oil buildup by the bendix gear and seems to be from there, how could that happen ? where else could oil be coming in from to leak from there? Bell housing ?
Dd13, where’s the oil leak?

gearhousing gasket is leaking... forget about it. live with it

Wow, that is literally nothing. I would not be getting worried about that. If the starter area is worse, I would think it is coming from somewhere else.

You could also have a drip from the turbo oil return tube. You'd probably see evidence of that around where it connects to the block though. -
