I’m currently bidding on a contract to bring 1 million liters of DEF from ND and OR up to BC and AB.

If we get it, we are going to be paid out the nose for this work…..

Not leaning one way or another but if USA truckstops are trying to get it why would it be shipped out of the USA to Canada?

N7 makes a bunch of DEF here in ND. Dyno Nobel makes it in Cheyenne Wyoming too.

It's not so much a DEF shortage as much as A UREA shortage but I guess they go hand in hand. The farmers will be hit hard as well. The major suppliers I think are Russia amd chine of urea amd they supposedly stopped exporting it

Did you hear about the new epa regs? I forget when this will happen .2027? These new trucks will use double the amount of DEF
The additional cost for new pollution eqpt. is estimated to be $31 ,000. WOW. This is crazy. Apparently the big carriers will be ordering new trucks well in advance. They will also be extending the life of older eqpt. Small carriers and o/o 's will be sol. I can see the big boys building shops to totally rebuilding their fleets. Maybe doing frame offs. This will influence parts mfrs. to make all kinds of aftermarket items
Smart independent shops will also begin providing restoration services. Years ago gliders were the answer. Reman is better.

The Cornwall petro pass had a whole bunch of lanes closed earlier this week, I think only 5 were open. I've never seen that happen there before. The Flying j at exit 814 on the 401 has been doing well.

    Sorry. Fat fingers.

Did you hear about the plan to establish a green transportation corridor in the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence region as part of ongoing efforts to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to net zero by 2050? It states that for every ship nearly 1000 trucks will be taken off the road
