Yeah, I’m on a 5/2 5/3 Old pay scale probably hit 80s with bonuses for my first year. Next realignment I won’t have the program I’m thinking cause guys want to be home weekends and you do get home some. I got lucky started on 5-2/5-3 then got it again but at a 0600 start. Next time like I said probably won’t get it though. Who knows.....

As for contract carriers. I’m at a grocery, and swift can’t even handle the freight given to them now. They’ve been slowly given more and they continue to fail. Can’t wait until they get 100% of the frozen & Dairy ontop of the 70% remix. Idk what Walmart is thinking but hey, maybe that’s what they want. Each load not taken or covered is a $700 fee and every late stop is like $150.....guess we’ll find out if they close this entire terminal to Walmart drivers or not.....or they could do the right thing and keep it open....cause it’s all about getting to stores their freight.....right?!

Logistics!!! This is one reason Schneider lost a lot of accounts back in the 90s. I'm not trying to be funny. I am dead serious. I think Schneider is still trying to find trailers lost during that time.

I have never been a Wal-Mart employee, but I do occasionally pull dedicated for them. The rates vary by dc, but if I pulled for them year round I could easily pull in 100k.
They pay a day rate or cpm whichever is higher plus fuel surcharge.
I can't do it longer than a couple of weeks tops though. It's ridiculously easy, but they micro manage you to death. Plus, I hate pulling a van.

    Yeah, ok...

Go through Walmart’s lengthy process only to be told THEN that you’ll be working for the proverbial equivalent of peanuts due to all of your recent changes???

    That’s hilarious. :laughing-guffaw:

    Yes.

Coming in you will be extraboard. That means you may have one truck all week, or a couple through the week. They do try to keep you in one for efficiency, but you are covering gaps in other drivers schedules so it is not always viable.

You can verify with HR but it is .38 a mile, $9 an activity, $11.25 for live loads to 45 minutes then 14 an hour. YOU DO NOT TOUCH FREIGHT. Seriously you can be held accountable for touching freight.

Even with the reduction in mileage, between weekend pay, safety bonuses I figure the new guys can do 78-82k without killing themselves and maybe more if they volunteer to work out their 70 on a sixth day.
