I've been driving trucks almost 5 years. Before estes, I had a combined 2 weeks of REAL WORLD manual experience. All that time came from Werner. Once you learn it, you don't forget it. Take it slow on the road, and you'll get it back in no time.
While I was out with the trainer at Estes, I stalled the truck like 5 times that whole week lol. I've even stalled em since I've driven some here now. No big deal. You're going to be rusty getting back in them. Sometimes I take manuals just to stay fresh. You can't let the automatic spoil you.
If you know the basics of driving a manual (double clutch lol, typical shift ranges, down shifting, taking off, stopping etc), you're fine. Never tell them you can't drive a manual. You simply express to your trainer, you're rusty. Once you're hired, then you worry about that.

Just for the old heads that will try to ride me, I always stall the truck taking off lol. Sometimes I forget to ease off the clutch. Driving manuals, I will admit I'm way more cautious. I don't eat while I'm driving or anything lol.

I went a few months without driving one and I forgot 6th gear existed. That truck was NOT happy when accelerating and going from 5th to 7th. And I had a hell of a time downshifting getting off the highway. No matter how hard I revved, I couldn’t get it to go from 7th to 5th! Had to bail and leave it in neutral til I got to the bottom of the ramp.
Took a full day before I remembered where 6th gear was and figured out why I was having so much trouble. -

When I get back in one I forget to put it in neutral coming to a stop at a light and the truck jumps all over and dies. You sure get used to just putting it in drive and forgetting about it.
