I am going to post on my experiences through FFE's driver Refresher Course, and my experiences riding with one of their Trainers. Have read alot about the academy, but not so much on the Refresher, so I figured someone else out there may be able to use the info. I start next Thursday, Jan 17th, and I am hoping it will be a good experience. Let me give you some back-ground about myself here, I am 21, have 6 months Driving experience, Amarillo-Dallas mainly, but my father has been an owner-op going on 28 years now, so I am not new to Truck Driving. I have heard lots of funny, sad, crazy, and gruesome stories about FFE's trainers so I figured what the hell, I will keep the world updated on how my experience goes.
So far it has been pretty good, My recruiter has been very informative and has really kept in contact with me. I cant say the same about the recruiters from Werner and Stevens. Every question I have asked has been answered, with little to no Bull#@$! involved in the answer. They are supposed to get back to me tomorrow on my travel arrangements, so I will update again then.

Sorry it took so long to get back on and update, been working out of town. They got back to me on Friday, told me I was due to leave on the 16th via bus, and that they would be e-mailing me that afternoon with travel plans, hotel info, items to bring, etc etc. They got me that e-mail on monday, no big deal stuff happens, was in depth and informative, only issue is I have to pay for my cab from bus station to hotel, which really isnt that big of a problem beings they reimburse you. Supposed to stay at the country inn and suites, nice place as far as i know, and catch shuttle to FFE campus on thursday morning. Tomorrow is the day of the bus/cab/hotel so I will get back with another update tomorrow, or the day after. So far so good, BUT i am still keeping the prayers going, never know what can happen!!

The cab ride is $15 and the hotel is very nice but you will only be there long enough to do the drug screen and background check like 4 days then its off to the barracks I was lucky I sta6ed at the hotel 7 days and when I got to the barracks I had my own room...

FFE does have some good trainers witch most came from Lisa Motor Lines witch most have moved on to other companies. I myself had a good trainer, but when I got my own truck FFE went downhill very fast. Its best to really check them out. For me it was sour apples.

Boy my barracks room was like a jail cell at FFE's Academy. Nothing like posted on there web site.
teqntexas Thanks this.
