Well, let's see what is messing up today.

The past two trailers have lit up the ABS light... sometimes, but not all the time.
My internet speed is way down where I stopped tonight.

And the Qualcom has been on the fritz all day.
No incoming or outgoing messages, and a few data errors thrown in.

    Must be too many sunspots.

I wrote that and then thought... hmmm.... I wonder what is happening on that front.
Because there are many right now, with CME's going off all over the place.
    Another closer one tomorrow.

The Qualcom people have been trying to fix things all day.
I wonder if they have taken solar activity under consideration.

    dptrucker Thanks this.

    Planners are strange people.
Sometimes I think they are high, drunk, or both.

Yesterday I finished my load at around noon, and they waited until after 1600 to give me my next load - which was already late.
A Costco load out of Morris.
If they had planned me on it sooner I could have delivered it yesterday at around 1800, but they waited so long that it didn't get delivered until today at noon.

The next load was also late picking up, but I had time on the delivery.
An hour after my delivery I got a message that the load could pick up until 1000 tomorrow, and then the load assignment came through.
A minute later I got a message that the load was rescheduled to pick up at 1800 tomorrow.
30 minutes later I got a message that the load would be picking up at 1900 tomorrow.

There is SO much wrong with all of this!

I called my ECT DM an asked to be taken off the load.
    No problem.
Then he found 3 other available loads that were picking up from the same place, and to the same final.
I took one of those that is picking up tomorrow morning.

Why can't the actual planners do these things right?

    dptrucker Thanks this.

Because the planners have no direct supervision other than the terminal manager. When a Denver planner blew out my PTA (for turning down a load) I called the terminal manager to complain. He kept saying that I had no proof so I cussed him out and hung up. 20 minutes later he called me back to say that he found out who blew my PTA out and that it wouldn't happen again. I applolgised for being "unprofessional".

    Moosetek13 and dwells40 Thank this.

Not really sure you should have.

Part of being professional is speaking your mind.
It is telling someone what they need to hear, when they need to hear it.

That TM was discounting you, plain and simple.
It wasn't until you lost your temper that he actually looked into things far enough to issue you an apology.
That was professional on his part, but losing your temper in that situation - in my opinion - does not mean you were in any way being unprofessional.

    dwells40 Thanks this.

    ernies in beaver Utah.
waiting for other driver to show.
    he said 1700 eta.
so if he gets here then I will head to misquite nv.
fyi... they are redoing the jurupa terminal yard.
about halfway done and whoever designed it needs a drug test lol.
if there was a trailer next to this one I wouldn't have been able to get out.
barely room for drivers to drive down the isle between my truck and truck across the way.
think their goal was to make more parking spots.
complained to my dl yesterday and told him about today.
alot of trucks and trailers will get hit if they don't fix it

They don't need more and tighter spaces in that lot, they need a bigger lot.
Isn't there some land right there next to the terminal that they could expand in to?

    dptrucker Thanks this.

I've been refusing any pickup or drop off at Jurupa citing "safety hazard" after they built that sardine can. Every time I went in there saw freshly torn up trucks and trailers.

Anyone who has had the displeasure of dealing with the Kroger (Frys) DC in Tolleson, AZ will appreciate this.
I do 2-3 drops a week @ this DC. Normally takes whoever is working the window takes AT LEAST 5 minutes to prepare my paperwork.
Imagine my surprise when a young lady greets me at my truck, asks for my paperwork, and brings it back fully prepared in about 2 minutes.

I don't expect this to ever happen again!
