Anybody have experience driving for JK Williams or CDJ Bulk Express? If so what are your pros and cons.

Also looking into Bones and C&W but if anyone has other recommended OTR end dump companies lmk.

    Thanks in advance, stay safe!

Company driver for now. Been around heavy haul the last 4 years and really been wanting to venture out and do the end dump deal for myself. But wanted to gain the experience with the ins and outs, build relationships and then get my own setup. I talked with @Trashtrucker1707 he gave me a BUNCH of knowledge and forwarded the companies I’ve listed. Top notch dude for sure!

@motocross25 well i dont know about all that, i just happen to be an O/O that does end dump work :p

Jokes aside i have worked for bones as both a company driver and O/O i can tell you there a pretty great place to work and im heavily biased in their favor. Never worked for any of the other end dump companys though save a stint with miller concrete running bellys.

As for pros, small company so your a face not a number, friendly staff and drivers, good equipment, consistant loads and steady work, pay is somewhere in the upper middle to upper end depending on how long you stay out, consistant home time, and you can be based out of state.

Cons, smaller company so bennys arent the best, no fridges in trucks (they do have inverters though), can take some pretty....nasty loads like dead chickens or hides, gotta stay out for 2-3 weeks to really make the big money, only the one yard and mechanic so he can get backed up with work easily.

Least thats how i see it.

If you’re not firm on going OTR, there are other companies based in the area that could give you a start but you’ll be mainly doing scrap and feeding cement plants. Soil tech is big, does a bunch of hauling for trademark metals, and of course you have CFT and Daniel Mullins pulling a ton of sand and rock around Florida, liberty/shadd trucking is further north in lake butler, above gainesville and they do a lot of limerock hauling in to the Jax area with some back hauls out. One thing to keep in mind, Bones, JK, and C&W all have O/O programs where CDJ does not, might be something to think about if you’re considering the transition to O/O with the company you hire on to as an employee. Keep us posted and join in the conversation, it’s a different world but if it doesn’t rattle your nerves too much it’ll probably be the last side of trucking you’ll ever want to do.

Following. Looking for an end dump company that will hire someone with 3 years OTR dry van experience out of Parkersburg, WV. Been talking to CDJ and they really like me except for the fact that I've been driving an automatic for almost my entire driving career. JK is on the list to call but haven't gotten around to them yet. How about Payne? Anybody here got any experience with them?

I dont know anything about Payne, I see them down in Florida often though. Look in to R&J out of Boardman OH, also Mcclymonds in Portersville PA.
