I've been at home recovering from surgery since Febuary, but I've been following all the Arnold threads on here. It sounds like nothing has really changed. The same problems exist: Incompetent ops people, whether that be FMs, planners, or Terminal Manager. The shops are still undermanned & underskilled. What did it tell you when they went to two orientations per week? How must that effect the safety department, the one good department we have (speaking of GP). It smells like desperation.
I've lined up several other offers paying .05 more or better and still home weekly. The Arnold business model is failing. Who will be there to scoop up the pieces at fire-sale prices? USX??

My resignation is going in next week as well.

The thing is.. the miles are there at the end of the week, you really have to work to get them, but they add up.

However, when your constantly talked down to, messages not answered for hours or sometimes not at all. It really makes it all not worth it..

I agree 100%. That matches my experience, mostly and that's why I've been so honest in my comments on all the various threads, citing specific things. I also got blocked by a Arnold recruiter's Facebook after posting 2 negative, but fair comments. Fair enough, it's their page. Clearly, someone doesn't want these pesky details to derail their quota... Reminds me of my Dad who was an Army recruiter back in the day...
I suppose Mr Smith feels profits are best served by employing inexperienced drivers who will work cheaper, but what does that cost on the safety end as well as the initial costs incurred with new hires?
Oh well, anj, we just "drive". What do we have to offer?
Now,off to do something really important.... Call Mom!

Several company policies seem to be policy only when convenient.

Q: This is news to you ? It's S.O.P. in trucking. I call it jello back syndrome AKA spineless...... most members of carrier mgmt. have it bad.

Smh. Picking up a preloaded trailer. Blown tire and broken foot on landing gear. Never fails with this company.

I picked up one at Lowe's DC in Mt Pleasant,TX, but couldn't retract the gear since a yard hostler dropped it (without lowering it first) and broke the gears. I hate to p/u a empty that needs work. It doesn't take that long to call breakdown when you are dropping so they can send someone out before the next poor sap has to deal with it.

Weekend planners amaze Me the most. I'll have less than 3 hours left on my 70 tomorrow morning and they want to know why I can't do a load that will take approx 7 hours..

GP or JAX? The few times I got to deal with JAX ops, it went much more smoothly than GP, but that was a few months ago and I'm sure staff has changed since then.

Jax planners. 3 hours later and the preplan is still assigned. Such a Shame because I will be taking myself to the truckstop after delivery and taking a nap. I documented on the drivertech that I couldn't run it due to insufficient hours, so it's on them from here.
