I did this myself, lowered my BP from 190/140 to 120/85 in one week, so there's at least one verified, factual success. I had a one year medical card, and wanted the 2 year card, so I took these common sense steps, and they worked really well. For me. Here's how I did it: For ONE FULL WEEK!!!
1. NO SALT. Salt is a poison for people with hypertension or high blood pressure. Not just table salt, either, ALL SALT. Salt is an astringent. It removes cellular moisture, thereby constricting blood vessels and body cells. The constricted cells require higher blood pressure to allow circulation.
a. Fast foods all use tons of salt, to enhance flavor in their crappy products. No McDonald's, Wendy's, or Subway. Buy fresh foods, Walmarts everywhere.
b. Canned foods, anything in a cellophane wrapper or jar, all have VERY HIGH SALT CONTENT. No processed or package foods.
2. NO CAFFEINE. That means no coffee, no Mountain Dew or other soft drinks, no chocolate, nothing with caffeine. Caffeine is a stimulant, it increases your heart rate, which increases your BP.
3. INCREASE POTASSIUM INTAKE. Eat a couple/three bananas per day. Take a couple of 100mg Potassium supplements daily. Potassium provides regulation of heart function, rhythms, pressure, and it's a good idea to be aware and careful to get enough potassium. We need a lot, 4,700mg/day is recommended daily amount. You should verify this, and all these claims, for yourself before doing anything.
4. HYDRATION. Fluid intake is extremely critical. Drivers tend to be dehydrated, because we don't want to stop all the time. But if you're dehydrated at all, your cells constrict, which increases blood pressure. Hydration is a cheap and easy way to effectively help drop your BP. Water, not soda or beer.
5. NO ALCOHOL. Alcohol is another poison for people with high blood pressure. It increases energy consumption, decreases cellular moisture, dries us out and so more pressure is required for circulation. No alcohol.
6. NO CIGARETTES. Nicotine is another poison for people, and not just those with high blood pressure.
7. DIET AND EXERCISE. One week won't get you back to 25 years old, but it's always a good idea to increase your heart rate for 10 or 15 minutes with exercise. I got one of those milk cartons from the back of a Walmart store and use it for step exercise. Good diet provides clean blood, and people with clean blood think better, make better choices, and live better lives.
8. CLEAN BLOOD. All these, and many more, choices sum up as clean blood, and a healthy heart. Healthier anyway.
I hope anyone reading this gets at least a little view toward how easy it is, how healthy it is, to clean up. Jim

Thank you starboyjim, I do all that although fast food can be difficult to cut and caffeine but I read an article if you have coffee to wake up and later drink green tea so that's what I do. The Pilot has a tropical green tea I really enjoy. Some Ta's and Petro's have exersise rooms I use before a shower you have to hunt for them though,I wish they all had them. Another help is to keep as much healthy food/snacks with you in your truck helps out a lot otherwise you're stuck with whatever you can find.

You did not get a one year card with numbers like 190 over 140. You would have been "observed" or got to meet an ambulance crew. Good work though on getting you numbers down, i responded well to those same changes in diet too....

Black coffee is actually is healthy. There is studies saying it can reduce chance for diabetes and other health issues. It's what you pollut it with that makes it unhealthy like a lot of creamer and dumping a crap of sugar in it.
