When the time comes, I don't plan on giving a two week notice. I was talking to a former marten driver who did give a two week notice, and they routed him to mondovi even though he picked up the truck in texas where he lived. A friend of mine went to marten and stayed only two months and he quit without notice, and now they are already calling him wanting him to come back, but he is now with landstar. Being that I live out west, I don't want to have to pay for a plane ticket home from mondovi. So when Im ready, I will clean the truck inside and out, take pictures, turn in fuel card, steer lock, pre pass, keys, and get the truck signed off in good condition. If I leave it will probably be for some local gig, if I wan't to stay otr then I will most likley stay here at marten.

$100 for layover- $75 for drayage- hourly for locals all sound cool. Until you give it all back at .03 per mile.:biggrin_25524:

i worked for randy for a little while. he's pretty cool unless you tear up equipment, frequent accidents, get NEEDLESS tickets and the like. you wont get rich working there, but it can beat a blank. hes got good equipment but i would have like to see him give some of that money to the drivers, ie raises and better benefits. good place to get your start, but keep your nose clean and get u a better paying, home at night and weekend trucking gig.

And if your dispatcher says they dont have freight, FIRE 'EM. and keep doing it till they start running u!!

If you are still working there at getting miles like that its because you are on the lower end of pay. The higher that you get the less you get.

Maybe that's why I did get squat for miles. They starved me to death.
