Health insurance costs to you are going to vary by company and the state you live in.The last company I worked for used to provide complete coverage for free, with a small deductible.Later, they charged 1% of our gross pay.Still cheap though. The deductible did go up to 300.00 for single and 600.00 per family with a small increase in co pay.The bigger the company" more employees"the cheaper the rates they will be charged by the insurance company.A smaller company might take more out of your paycheck to defray their cost but it's best to have some coverage than nothing. There is nothing wrong with checking out a new companies health plan before you hire on.When on the job ,you do have workmans compensation required by law, covered by your company, you have no liabilty. They pay,you don't. If you our hurt on the job, the injuries and health issues are covered under a separate policy mandated by the state.I now alot of people complain about what they pay for health care from the paycheck but it may come in handy some day.My wife died of cancer.I didn't worry about the bills at the the time, just her care. The bills did amount to $750,000.Insurance paid most and I paid the rest.Any insurance is better than none.

most insurance provided these days is very good. your family will benefit greatly from it...... you, however will be on the road, not able to set up dr.s appts that you can adhere to. its tough for us to make appts for anything, or even tell friends and family EXACTLY when we'll be home. just part of the job
