Looks like you could use it to find a rest stop IF you are placed OOS and LEO says to find a hotel/ parking area. That would be a nice LEO.......

Also appears that my 5th wheel and jeep on my Step Deck would fall under "Time spent transporting personal property while off-duty". But I'm thinking Ridgelines ideas are good too because who knows how a backwoods enforcement entity would take it on the side of the road.

This guy doesn't know what he is talking about this is from the FMCSA website.

    You can PC while loaded:
The CMV may be used for personal conveyance even if it is laden, since the load is not being transported for the commercial benefit of the carrier at that time.

You can PC to safe area :
The movement of a CMV in order to enhance the operational readiness of a motor carrier. For example, bypassing available resting locations in order to get closer to the next loading or unloading point or other scheduled motor carrier destination.

    You can transport personal property:
Time spent transporting personal property while off-duty.

No sir, you're correct. My 2 examples are using my commercial dually to move my personal property for fun. My worry is how any given LEO will take it on the side of the road. The hassle if you will. VS just treating the moves totally commercial and moving on.

The way I read it this falls under what not to use PC for:
Examples of Uses of a CMV that Would Not Qualify as Personal Conveyance
    Y'all crack me up.

That’s incorrect. You probably misread it.

Yea, I was originally just replying to the unladen issue, then it expanded outside the original scope. Pulling his own stuff he's 100% ok doing PC.
Now to add a bit more of a headache, he will likely still have to go into the coop as most states specify CMV's which, even under PC, he is still driving.

Moving a CMV at the request of a safety official during the driver’s off-duty time

if I run out of hours on off-ramp there's a high possibility that I will be told to move by safety official so therefore I will personal convenience to the next safe spot

    Bean Jr. Thanks this.

you said you can't PC with the trailer which is wrong and you said you can't go to safe spot unless from a shipper which is also wrong
