Ive been approved by swift on a dedicated dollar tree account, that gets you home weekly and home for the week ends, grossing about 1100 weekly. Premier Transport that works 5 days and off for 2, grossing about 700-800 weekly. And JB Hunt that will have me out for two weeks and home for 2 days, grossing about 800-900 weekly. The thing is i know nothing about these companies, and dont know if the companies are telling the truth about the job positions i have applied to.. I do have otr experience but looking to get home more often, so i guess my question is have any one worked with these companies before, i have until next week to make a decision cause i need to get back to work. But also not looking to get pimped by either trucking company, if you are an experinced driver which company would you chose in a sitiuation like this one. Thanks any info would be helpful for me making a decision...

Lots of PROMISES no guarantee ,,they all advertise top pay , we pay the best ,our drivers voted us #1 (in their company news paper)
Treat you like family (Manson Family).
Look for a private carrier,,a company that hauls it's own products,, A lot of manufactures own their own fleets. Google private motor carriers..The seldom advertise for drivers because their have little turn over.
If you live in Virgina call Intertrans Carrier Co. They are owned by a big plastic company,,Good pay, benefits , good equipment ,grate safety record and APUs

Try reading the Swift, and JB sections (there isn't a Premier listed). You will see you can get money and be treated like junk all depending on which way the wind blows. But you will hear the complaints and you can ask about the realities and the successes.

When I worked for Swift when I was starting out I really had no major complaints. I mean overall I loved my experience there. My father works under the Budweiser dedicated account in St.Louis for J.B Hunt, and he's been with them for 17 years with no complaints. And from what I have heard, Premier Transport is the place to stay away from.

The Swift deal sounds good, but a Dollar Tree dedicated might be a LOT of hard work. You may be unloading the trailers at each stop.
I don't know what kind of shape you are in, or if you like a lot of manual labor. But if that's your thing Swift might be the way to go for now.

JB with 2 weeks out and home 2 days doesn't sound like much of a deal.
With Swift OTR it is 1 home day for every 6 out, but you would most likely be out 3-5 weeks between home times. You might be able to manage a home time every 2-3 weeks, but you take a hit in pay when you take home time because at least one week will be very short on miles.

I'm a Swiftie, by the way.

Pretty sure Dollar Tree are floor loads. I watched those US Express unloading at the Dollar Tree in the shopping center where I work. Takes the driver 3-4 hrs. to offload....running the cartons down a set of rollers. Not for me!

If you don't mind hand unloads, look into LTL instead of Swift. You'll get home every day, make about $20/hr with OT after 40 hours, get good benefits, and be able to bid into a nice set run once you're there for a little while. If you like the OTR gig, how close to Greensboro are ya? If you're only an hour or two I'd look into Epes. I've never really heard a lot of bad about them, and seeing as your based close to the main terminal, you'd probably be able to get through the house more often....;-)

If you want to do hard labor, I've seen Epes pulling dollar trailers. Epes will get you home.
