This is a photo of a Rand McNally EOBR in personal Conveyance mode (so I'm told)

I've never heard about covering up dot # ....

    This can't be correct.....?

Looks like BS to me. What happens if you violate their "Personal Conveyance protocol"? Trial is waived, and summarily executed at sunrise at the nearest state police station?

Here come all the dudley do-rights to affirm this definition as "federal law fact"

It's close. Go on FMCSA website for the reg. last I new the reg number is in the hand book, but doesn't say what it is. have to go to FMCSA web site to get it. It has been awhile but last I new as long as the truck isn't laden, you have no responsibility to the company and you begin the same place you ended you can drive under your own conveyance. it doesn't specify time or distance. like I said it has been a while since I checked the reg. everything is subject to change

Didn't some guy make the truck paper news rounds bobtailing from AZ to home in GA and got busted in Louisiana for logging it all off duty? He was going to a funeral for a relative.
Info on that screen does not seem to be accurate.

He should have seen what a judge would say. If he was within the rules, some overzealous DOT officer could have written a ticket he could beat.

I've used personal conveyance many times and over long distance as well. I logged off duty from Newark NJ after completing a load after my truck was damaged by a mega driver in Tenn. Drove all the way home to Fla off duty.

Covering the DOT#? Thats a new one for me.

DOT and company's bend the regulations to suit there own needs. the problem is' drivers don't take the time to really know the regulations and they just go by what there told.
