USX accident, your opinion?

As a professional driver we are supposed to expect the unexpected so it will always be the drivers fault. It is a dangerous profession, you can drive 7 million miles without any mishaps then get one crazy giving you one and your 7 million miles do not matter anymore and you the bad driver,,all for having a 70 hr work week and being away from home.

 

If USX was within seconds of when the car spun then USX didn't have time to react.But if he was within braking and stopping distance then he should have stopped.I've always kept plenty of following distance and looked far ahead at all times.

 

If that's the case then usx should have started slowing down once he seen something on the road.I never did like driving at night when it rains.

 

I always look at it this way, if there's a stopped vehicle in the road and I hit it, it's gonna be my fault. Regardless of whether their lights were out, or if there's heavy fog, snow, rain, dark, blinding sun.. or whatever. If I can't stop, I was driving too fast for the distance I can clearly see.

You see it all the time in the fog. People just keep on truckin the speed limit just because they can see the fog line and/or zipper, even though it's impossible to see 100 feet ahead.

 

From what I Could see was the car was just over the crest in the overpass at 3 o'clock in the morning and left the car in the center of the freeway and walked away to go get help Allegedly and us express came upon it... Frankly the operator of the car is a moron because from all news reports he spun out but did not hit anything and left his car in the middle of the freeway.

 

When it's dark, wet roads suck the reflection right out of headlights. Its very easy to not notice how much you can't see ahead of you.

I ran over a roadkill deer once when I was young. It was laying right in the rut and I didn't even see it until it was too late to do anything about it. Wasn't speeding, wasn't distracted, just going too fast although it didn't seem like it at the time. Wet roads can be shockingly deceptive.

 

Does not matter it states that vehicle must be driven under control at all times no matter what so it really is both drivers fault but the idiot that left car in the middle of road, no lights on should have a special sentence, like learn thinking before waking and still again learn how to think.
