Speaking of polishing @SAR what do you use on stainless?

I was working on this last night because it was rusty and pitted from the stack leaking down on it. I used a green bar but it left a haze in some places. Ended up using a blue bar to get rid of it.

I do the same thing with the buffing wheel and rouge bars. I start with the yellow wheel and green bar, followed by white wheel and white bar. If it still has the rust pits and streaks I use this stuff. Works really good.

I did buy this stuff recently and heard it's really good. I haven't tried it yet but expect it to be better then never-dull. IMG_5907.JPG
If the other one looked like that I'd say you did a great job cleaning it up. Those elbows get all the road grime on there and then baked on. I'm always fighting that and the exhaust streaks and rust that form.

I used my zip gun with a scotchbright pad where it was pitted then sanded and polished. It cleaned up alot better then I thought it would.

    I'm coating everything with sharkhide.

We'll have to wait and see if it helps.

I forgot to say if it's rough to the touch I'll use the scotchbright pad and do a little sanding to start with before polishing.

Looks looks your doing it right to me.
