My best friends husband worked there. Not exactly by choice. He was a delivery driver for a manufacturer that decided that they wanted to turn over their trucking division to Hogan. He was happy at his job prior to that. To say he hated Hogan is an understatement. His payroll was continuously wrong, he always had to chase them for money owed. At the end I think they were trying to starve him out, because he was higher paid then their average driver, since they took over his contract when they took over the trucking division from his old company.

His biggest complaints were the fact that he had to hound them for his pay, often for weeks. No night driving without permission (seriously???). The fact that idling is totally frowned upon, no matter if you are in Texas in August and it's super hot. The micro managing.

That said, he is gone from there now, good for him and me, since I don't have to listen to him complain anymore, and he loves his new, much better paying job.

I wonder who the owner of Hogan is. Our neighbor years ago was a Hogan and he was into trucking, but I am not sure if this is the same person or not.

I doubt it was your neighbor, they have been in business since 1918

Most likely not he then. He was a neighbor when we lived in Indiana in about 1972, I ran across him again when I was working at a permit office out of Welch Oil in Lake Station, IN and he was still trucking, this was about 1981 and he was located out of New Orleans then. I've seen the Hogan trucks and always wondered. Thanks for the info.

I've worked for Hogan for about a year now and I'm quite happy with them. I'm willing to answer any questions anyone might have.

I did work for Averitt for about a year. Good people. Never had to worry about my check. Yes, they raise the bar a little higher, but it wasnt that bad. I enjoyed it. Went out on my own is why I left. I worked the Craker Barrel acct and the Shoe Carnival acct with Averritt. Nothing bad to say about them. Good Luck, hope it helps.
